Well as you now have 9-10months warning work out a way to get your arse from SC to RI. That goes for Mark, French, Shawn, the west coast boys and the Texans and every one else.

I prefer non-soiled mountain tops in general... but, you know what they say, even a bad day on a bloody mountain is better than a good day elsewhere!

Soory for the late reply, My day turned to crap on me Warus, but have a look at www.jetblue.com check out the route map.

I can get you (standby, but I can see exactly how many people are on each flight) for $55USD each way coast to coast, and $35USD between NYC/BOS and Florida. anything shorter is $17 each way. (BOS to NYC etc)

My thoughts are you could do a day trip from Boston or NYC to Niagara falls for $34 round trip. Pick up a tour from Buffalo airport (or a rental car for the day) and you can save 5-7 hours of driving each way. I could even work it to work a trip so we can stay at the Hyatt in downtown Buffalo for free. If Emma works with me we get two hotel rooms

If any of the SC boys can get you from Charlotte, NC, or even Jaxsonville?? or something then you could do Boston, or JFK down their way also.

You can do LongBeach CA to Vegas, and then Vegas to New York, or Boston.

Have a look, I shouldnt have any trouble getting you 6-8 one ways (maybe more) They are all refundable, and changeable for free. I can check all the loads for you a day or so in advance so you know which flight to go for.

I think the BOS to Buffalo for Niagara falls is a good shot. we have loads fo flights and if any of the lads want to go with you, or make it an outing we could all fly up there too.

You could look at getting an "open jaw" ticket to New York/Boston, on Qantas/AA etc, and then leave from LAX using Jetblue to work your way back across the country via Vegas etc...

    Food for thought

I would like to see if we can get a lot of the NSOPer's together somewhere along the trip for a meet up. Mid Sept- Mid October. I can be flexible if that lines up with something or other. Just keeping this thread in peoples minds who might also like to make a journey.
Count me in on some leg of that trip! After the "big D" is final I plan on traveling around the US a lot to see some NSOPers.

sure, if I have buddy passes left. ha ha, We generally only use them for when friends come over from New Zealand. (we can get fired if you F**k it up though. ha ha)

Its just tough when people want to use them at busy times like Thanksgiving and stuff. When the flight is full you dont get on

For the likes of Warus though, wher he can be somewhat flexiable once he is in the US it works a treat. most destinations have more than one flight a day and with a standby ticket you can kinda route through anywhere for no extra cost... (if LAX to BOS is full you can try for LAX to NYC to BOS and so on)

I really think in Warus' case doing the flights to BUffalo for Niagara is the best way to go, and if there are a bunch that want to go, Im sure I can figure something out

Maybe even a bunch can meet him out in Vegas/LAX and make a "meet" out of it. rent a van/cars and go out to fire valley. Jay, or Kilonad can organise us some ModelMayhem hotties and do an outdoors shoot

It may work out for you it may not Warus? but its food for thought, and it can even open up some places that you maybe hadnt considered visiting because of time constraints? Seattle/Chicago/Florida... (Even Texas )

Yes. Open to advice. I tried to build it around Arcadia being the 3rd weekend in September. Can possibly squeeze extra days in at different spots if I can stretch the old budget.

I'm hoping there is some sort of NSOP meet in RI weekend and then the Arcadia one as well Saad maybe one in Denver and Las Vegas too and I get to meet Jeff and maybe the cranky monster on the way out if he can handle me calling everyone mate.

Are you driving to the grand canyon from Denver? If so you should hit a NP in UT on the way. Arches or Zion or Bryce Canyon.

And I'd love to meet up with you somewhere - Yosemite or SF.

If someone could tell me where to stay between Denver and the Grand Canyon that would be good. All the towns look tiny with strange Indian names and I'm not sure that's a good or bad thing.

If you're going to Arches you can stay in Moab - it's a small town but they have hotels and stuff. Their public library is actually really nice, too.

Cool, I would definately be down for the RI meet since I am down there with Ben constantly, but I would love to get up to Acadia the same time next year as last. Maybe around end of Sept...We'll see. My wife might want to do the Adirondacks next year.

We are busy the week of Sep 12th - 18th unfortunately. Good news - that's the weekend we are getting married ! If we have everything working smoothly we will try and squeeze in some time for a NSOP meet the weekend of Sep 11th and 12th.

That's the week I got married. It's a great week for honeymoon travel.

Doesn't look like Dave will be anywhere close to me.

    DO EET!

4 weeks is a good amount of time. 1 AUD = 0.90USD = 0.95CAD, but your money will go farther in most of North America -- Sydney is hella expensive to live in.

I worked out where it was thanks I think I have confused Arcadia with Adirondacks. Someone has a house at one of them that you all went to and took awesome photos. *Hint hint* Is the RI weekend ok for some sort of meet in that area? ie (hello illustrious leader ). Would be great for any of you to catch up with me on any part if this trip. Who wants to do Denver to LV?
