so they named the most expensive DSLR available the camera of the year? Hrm, lemme guess, somewhere in the first 5 pages there's a full page spread Nikon ad too?
Don't get me wrong, the D3x is an amazing camera, but who many readers can actually afford one? The 5Dii makes more sense to me honestly, as do the 7D and ep1/gf1...

yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.

wasnt the 5Dii released in '08? i dunno their requirements for camera of the year, but its not a far fetch to think it is chosen from those release in 2009. the version of the article on their website doesnt specify.
and the D3X is freakin awesome.
EDIT: 5Dii was a nominee in 2008![]()

Also about the car thing, I think you'd be surprised. It might just be the people you know or the area you live in, only a few people in my neighborhood have cars like that. Now if I drive to the next town over or like my old place in Houston literally a single person might own 5-9 Lambo's/Ferrari's/Bentley's each and this goes on for entire communities at a time.

What were the reasons they gave for choosing the D3x?
I think that having some sort of MFT - either the E-P1 or GF1 would be pretty defensible. They're finally delivering on the initial (failed) promise of 4/3rds and even the early "SLR-like" MFTs and are going to have a huge impact on the industry.
