I wish Nikon would announce their new ****ing body already.

I wouldn't have to buy a 5D MKII, it would be so nice to have high DR, good auto focus, FF and video.

I won't be upgrading (unless it's ~$2k! ) but I'm curious. I'm more excited to see what lenses they have under their sleeves. I really hope the rumored 24mm 1.4 and 16-35mm f/4 VR are both realities as I'd love both.

it's either a D700s or D700x. Odds are D700x with a D700s coming in a year? As you know, they always dumb down their D# range to the lower bodies around a year later. There's also been a lot of noise about how there's a "5Dii killer" coming from them which would hint a D700x with video. I guess a euro nikon exec said canon has had the lead in 1080p but it's not for long (hinting whatever is coming will have it).

my bet is it'll be called the D900 and it'll be a D3x sensor in a D700 body with video. I'm curious to know the framerate. I've been happy with my D700, but I do miss video. If they were to offer a 20+mp FF which a FPS mode on it I'd love it (but still not early adopt, I'm happy where I am now), but that would really be a tough thing to do to the D3x... So I'd bet it'll be 25mp, 5fps (or maybe 3 then 5 with grip?) with 1080p.

Lenses though, if they do the 24 or 16-35 (or both) there's a good change I'll be changing my lineup... That will just come down to pricing.

Well if any of it is true I'd be very happy to ditch my Canon gear. I just need something that actually works for me, I shoot studio, product, fish (basically the hardest sport shots you could imagine underwater on a macro scale) and product video.

I need high IQ and DR, 5 FPS, 1080p, bitchin AF, FF.. $3,500 or under. Weather sealing would be nice too, saltwater and climbing chalk are gnarly.
