For the cost of nothing, it might be worth it to see how the quality from wally's world compares to other vendors...

i'm taking my chances on this...it's free, right? I checked it out online and the printers are basically best when given an sRGB image? Ordered an 11x14 let's see how this comes out. I'm really confused by color anyways so who knows.
    1. jacobsen1's Avatar
yeah, send them RGB I'd guess. Prints are CMYK usually but I think they might use light in their machines. I've always sent RGB when I get 4x6s from them and it's been fine.

Ugh...no matter how I upload it the walmart site appears to be stripping any color profile off the image upon upload.

you converting to sRGB before saving in PS?

and when in doubt, have them do a 4x6 for you first, but I'm pretty sure you can reject their print based on color when you see it (I know you can with a 4x6, but maybe not with a poster).

convert to srgb before saving and the checkbox for embed srgb when saving is checked...

Anyone know a way to fake an ICC that's close to the crap I got? lol

      Super dark.. super.. super.. dark.

I thought I might be out of cal.. tried color eyes to validate.. yea no.

What kind of paper did they use? Make sure you turn you brightness way down on your monitor when editing you pic too.

Yea, I verified my settings with color eyes last night, either way there should be detail in foreground of my shot. Paper was lustre.

I'm going to get another at a diff walmart to see any differences, may boost the foreground a bit before. I don't have issues with real labs that give ICC profiles, and I don't let them perform corrections. I think Walmart just adulterates files. They did that before when I tried to print something real quick, had to tell them to turn off their autocorretion (turned my blacks 50% gray automagically)

      Other random tidbit:

16x20 is listed as $12.88 online, when I went to pick it up, it was tagged at $10. For future reference without a free coupon, I'm not paying online in advance, apparently it's cheaper in store.

Got a reprint.. better, but still darker.. different walmart, so who knows. Whatever, free is free.
