May's interview is with Scott Hotaling (Stime187) of Light of The Wild. Scott specializes in capturing dramatic outdoor images locally and in remote locations.

The NSOP Member Interview for March is Shawn Thompson. Shawn has long been a fixture at New School of Photography and his active participation helps to keep the board alive. I recently met Shawn in Zion National Park and it was a great time getting to know him better after knowing him so long online.



We shot a few of the questions on video - so we'll start with that.



And then on to the questions:

1.Why did you join NewSchoolofPhotography.com?

Scott Hotaling of http://lightofthewild.com asked me to join NSOP when it was still in the startup phase. He said they needed more landscape photogs. We were both members of http://lightcafe.net at the time.

2. What has NSOP done for you?

NSOP has put me in contact with an amazing array of quality photographers. I have received a lot of great advice and the comments and critique I have received on my images has propelled me forward as a photographer.
I am currently taking a trip to Zion National Park with you (Jeff Swanson / http://interfacingnature.com and Lonnie Shull http://landshapephotography.com) Without NSOP, this trip would not have happened for me.

January's Member Interview is with Jeff Swanson--though a relatively new member to NSOP, Jeff has been a solid contributor to the site, both with his great landscape photography and with his insights into the craft. I've particularly enjoyed watching Jeff's new discoveries on the Left Coast.

Today I have the pleasure of interviewing Mark Schueler of markschuelerphoto.com. Not only is Mark a moderator here on NSOP, but he's also someone I consider a personal friend. It's my please to interview him today, so lets get down to it:

Today I am interviewing Ben Jacobsen of benjacobsenphoto.com. He is also the founder of the photography forum, newschoolofphotography.com amongst a few other websites.
I have been a member of NSOP for a couple years now and recently became a moderator. Ben is a pretty humble guy with a boat load (pun intended) of skills. It’s a honor to be interviewing him today.
