I may have posted this before, but Every-time I have won, it was when I actually put some thought into the description and wrote a paragraph or so. Anytime I have used short descriptions like a sentence or two, I have not won.

I discovered this place a month or so ago.... essentially you submit a web-sized image for their "Photo of the Day" contest and if you win, they put it on their main page for 24-hours. They also list a bit about the photo, some info about the photographer, your website, and people can talk/comment on the shot.

The other cool thing is they actually pay you. If you win 3 times they paypal you $50, if you win another 4 times, they send you another $50... etc. Today is my 7th win so I'm expecting my second $50 sometime today... I received the first $50 the same day as my third win. $100 in a month isn't bad for a college student when it takes about 30 seconds to enter.

Anyways, its a cool place/concept... I don't see any ill effects to submitting shots and see a distinct increase in my website traffic when I "win" for the day.

Yeah I was sitting in Master Training Specialist training this morning, and saw it on the iphone, and I almost shouted out loud. I have submitted so many times. Never thought I would finally get one in. Guess it makes up for the exhibition I didn't get into this week at the South County Art Association.

You know it is funny how people will comment, but still gripe about something with the shot. I am not complaining by any means, but just not sure by what they mean about the foreground water being "disconcerting"? Either the reflection screws them up, or the fact that the way the section of falls is, you can stand literally inches from the edge, and the water actually runs behind you, coming in to the bottom of the shot from the right, then over the falls. I guess it is one of those make sure you "portray the place" kind of things. But it remains one of my favorite places, because of the close-ups you can get of the falls, and you can really use perspective to your advantage at Enders, since you can get so close, unlike a lot of waterfalls. Now I wish it was peak color there all year long. I would never leave, or shoot anywhere else.

it almost looks like there could be text hidden in the lower lip of the falls...

I really like the LOG exposure.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am not taking anything personally, but as I was reading some of those comments, I am sitting there thinking, these are the same people in some cases that sit and take pics of really unflattering things, and think they are the greatest work in the world. Basically what you said, but in a more verbose way.
