Default  8"x6" Graphics Tablet for $37

Monoprice has a 8x6" Graphics Tablet for only $37. Who knew that Monoprice sold anything other than cables and stuff?

The reviews are pretty solid too, even from people who also own Wacom tablets. So, if you've always wanted a tablet but didn't want to fork over a ton of cash for one, here's your chance! They have a bunch of other sizes as well.

Wow this is pretty sweet, and the nice thing is it'll probably be available for a while. 10x6.25 is only $4 more might be something to try out, but to be honest.. I'm a terrible terrible terrible at free handing.. using a mouse might actually be better for me lol

Reviews there show it is made by geniustablet.com where you can get updated drivers. Since geniustablet doesn't make anything that looks like these in their current lineup, they might be overstock last gen models with monoprice's name on it like a Promaster tablet. Looks like I'll probably get a 6x10 to try it out. Thanks for the heads up.

For those who have used them before, for X-Y movement, does the size of the tablet correspond to the size of the desktop? The active window? Something else? I'm thinking back to my old CAD/digitizer days and am wondering how the tablet is different. I understand the pressure sensitivity part.

that depends on teh software. in wacoms case you can define the mapping area. you can use one monitor (if multi monitor setup), or across all monitors, or some user defined portion.
