Default  right hand depth of field preview on a Canon?

I realize this is a bit of a weird question, but suffice it to say it's rather important to me that I have access to DOFP via my right hand. I've been to Home Depot et al and haven't found any kind of McGyver-like gadget I could attach. Not sure where else to look ... and I don't know any machinists who could build something custom. Yeah, the obvious solution is to buy a Nikon but I'm hoping to avoid that. Ideas?

because that's where it's supposed to be! lol

i'd prefer not to go into it cuz it drives me insane ... i've just learned that I need it to shoot the way I shoot.

Buy a Nikon. The only thing I can think of is a custom function that would allow you to assign DoF to the "set" button or something, but I can't think of a Canon you can do that on.

yeah, that's kind of what I figured, hence my thoughts on McGyvering something ... which is actually quite retarded, I know.

I'd happily go back to Nikon if they made a single lens I use.

Cant be too hard to fabricate. Get yourself a u shaped piece of metal/plastic. Get some kind of track that it can slide in. Make one part above the bend press on the DOF preview, and the other side right near the handle. After that you kinda just pull the bracket and it will press the button.

This would all look kinda funky, but it would be functional.

You could also take the camera apart and re-solder the wire and move it to a different button on the ride side, say, the AE lock.
