    Default  diy beauty dish

i roughly followed this tutorial here: http://lightandpixels.com/2008/11/14...iy-beauty-dish this is a light modifier frequently used in fashion shoots. these can cost anywhere from $160-$250 and are usually only made for studio strobes. since i am such a big fan of hotshoe flashes, these wouldn't work for me. the parts list includes a large shallow bowl, 5" hard plastic door guard, 3.75" convex mirror bought at an auto parts store, gutter connector, piece of aluminum strapping for the mount, and a few random nuts and bolts. you can't see the mirror because it is facing the flash to force the light all the way around the dish, softening it. i have yet to really test it, but i'll be tweaking it for sure.

yes, i usually use ettl, but i plan on buying some cybersyncs soon, but it won't alter the flash position.
