Default  Triggering flashes w/ wireless phones...?

I don't have much background in electrical so hopefully someone can shed some light. I have the ebay triggers and am wondering if I can integrate their camera/flash connections with the calling functions of a wireless phone - allowing for (hopefully) increased reliability, decreased interference, possibly increased range.

I picture it as this... wiring the ebay trigger to the phones transmitter, so that when I click the shutter, the phone recognizes this as an incoming call - thus sending a signal to the reciever (phone part) and triggering a ring, in this case firing the flash.

    Anyone have any input?

I would think this would not work due to the signal going through the phone would not be fast enough to sync with the shutter. If it would work at all.

This may work if you want a max sync time of ~2-5 seconds

Ever called your mobile from another phone because you couldn't find it? How long does it take for it to connect and start ringing?

There is an iphone app that will do this, the catch is, you need a computer connected to your camera..
