    Default  Tent-Pole Light Stand

Pretty neat, lightweight, and compact idea:

    Indoors only, though.

While this is a pretty interesting idea and could be useful on occasion it seems a little counter intuitive with the footprint of the stand with the method he is using.

It does give way to some good ideas though and could easily be improved upon.

though I disagree with his mention of them not being usable outdoors. He's using aluminum rods which are rigged on their own and with the right setup they could easily be setup for outdoor use. Growing up around camping gear I'm quite familiar with these and the other options that could be used to improve the design a little.

I will see if I still have enough of these laying around and mess around with the idea. If I come up with something I'll post back about it.
