Default  Help me break my lens

Hey I have a kit 35-80 I hate and can not allow myself to pass on to anyone else.
    I like saws and hammers.
I was wondering if I could jimmy out an extension tube or a reverse mount or something?
    Anything helps we can brainstorm.
    Thanks.

Take it apart and put it back together to learn about lenses?

When get it taken apart do you have any ideas about how to maybe salvage the mount and rig a new one on the front so I can put my 50 on it?

I'd just buy the proper ring personally.
    I own this joint!

yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.

Yeah, but I'm really poor and curious. Even if I have a crappy rig for a minute, I will know for certain whether it makes sense for me to buy one later. I would hate to get one and find out that macro is just not my digs.

However I can break the glass with a cool looking hammer, and light it up with construction lights, then burn it.

After finals I'd even do it outside somewhere in Houston and anyone else can come too and take pictures. I met one guy while out who told me about ya'll.

Can you mount an old nikkor MF 50 to an eos body. The nikkor has the split circle focus I have been dying to try and then you can stop up or down, cause in the ef lens you can't control app without the electric contacts, right?

    i missed this earlier.

the split prism focus is a function of the camera viewfinder, not the lens.

that said i use a nikkor-s auto 50mm f/1.4 that is about 50 years old now, and it's a fine lens. has a nice soft diffusion effect on highlights when wide open, which is the only way i shoot it.
