Default  Full frontal off road in HD

I got a happy package from GoPro with a couple of their HD models...

Jerm and I testing the new full frontal version of the cam mount with the GoPro HD Hero off road.

This is not set on full HD...this is 720 HD at 60 fps...

Now that the stability is much stronger, this will be awesome for autox/rallyx...

Is that mounting system something of your own devising, or is it something GoPro will be offering? I'm curious to see how far infront of the car it actually sticks out, it could be a potential cone catcher.

Yup...I build custom mounts for cameras. This one was fairly easy...4 ft long but attached right under the bumper and is at a 35 degree or so angle...so from front of the bumper to the camera is about 3 ft.

Since the car is fairly loud I didn't wanna get in trouble...people go there to ride bikes/atvs all the time but didn't wanna go too nuts....plus still getting used to the Prodrive suspension.

We did drift nicely a couple of times but it's hard to see since you don't see the car angle change...

In txic we're thinking about having a meet there...haha. It's across the street from my neighborhood....could drive/film/shoot during the day and go across the street and drink in the garage while we wash off all the dirt off the cars.

looks surprisingly stiff...figured there'd be more cantilever vibration.

Yup it's here in the Houston area less than a minute from my house (A)...off-road areas are in the middle of map:

These are cool videos - a suggestion for the first one would be to somewhat offset the camera to one side or the other to get better shots of the slides.

    Thanks!

I did the 3/4 side view in an earlier vid but have to work on the stability while keeping it a clamp-on...without modifying the car...this was a previous version of the external boom mounts...not nearly as stiff/stable as the alloy stock I'm using now...here is the older:

Right on....I'll be making the 3/4 angle mounts out of the new alloy stock and see how it is...especially if I can raise it up a bit for off-road use...

Nice! I want to see you go through some bigger puddles with that thing, like water crossing size puddles!

also, is the mount something you'd be willing to share so we could build our own?
