Everything is better, except the trackpad. I need a mouse

are you coming from a different laptop/trackpad, or a real computer?
I also hate trackpads, but I thought the powerbooks were supposed to be really good with all sorts of fancy gestures?

Both? I just need to re-learn everything. I set it up so it acts like the iphone (tap instead of using the horrendous click) but still get confused on when to single click, double click, click in the corner, two finger it, swipe, or do a handstand while patting my head. I also need to tweak the sensitivity, I"m getting lots of extraneous clicks.

get the better touch tool... it lets you customize the trackapd even further....
once you get use to it, its quite awesome... just give it time. It's like the thinkpad trackpoint in that if you dont take the time to use it and familiarize yourself with it, you will always think it sucks...

What hits me is that since Apple is a) a design company, and b) very 'our way or the highway,' it's bizarre that they would make the trackpad so damned complicated to use.
Well, maybe complicated isn't the right word. 'Difficult to fully take advantage of' makes more sense.
