Icon Lightbulb  Homework Assignment #14 (Rubber)COMPLETED!

The theme for this Assignment is "Rubber". Shoot anything you want.

Guidelines (just to keep us all on track)

    * Photo(s) must relate to the Theme in some way. Creative relation to the theme is certainly allowed (and encouraged). Anything that is related in some way is legal.
    * Assignment is open from Tuesday February 12th - February 29th giving you 2 weeks.
    * Only photos that have been shot within the assignment date range are allowed.
    * No signup is required, participation is encouraged regardless of skill or equipment level (after all, its not the camera, it’s the photographer,)…we’re here to have fun.
    * Photo size limit: 800px on the longest side
    * Basically, photograph however you like and normally do…whatever photography is to you. As many (or few) bodies/lenses/formats//Post-processing as you’d like. Sticking to basic PP is encouraged, tho’.
    * If you’d like, post brief but relevant photo information and note PP (if any) is done (*Free GIMP software*). Maintain EXIF data if possible.
    * Keep comments on topic, constructive, and considerate.
    * Have fun!

the dates were there (when I got here) but I moved it up to today figuring why not start now if you had an idea? End date is the same.

and +1 on someone posting a new assignment. I've been a little busy as has Matt.

My "Rubber" Submission. This is a "wet rain race" tire after a single session on a 1000cc road race bike. The color is about right, it comes from oils in the tires rubber compound "coming out" when the tire is very hot. This is typical of track tires for cars or bikes, getting this temp is standing water conditions on a bike is pretty hard riding, especially since this is the front tire.

    Well its either
    a) Take it to represent an accidental pregnancy... Dart going through the rubber to hit a bullseye.
    or
    b) I was just screwing around with the rubber assignment and had inflated a condom and was trying to figure out something interesting to do with it.

I think we'll 'claim' it was 'A' Artistic intent made up after the fact. Haven't had to do that since college portfolio reviews.

I was really impressed on how resilient the condom was though. after inflating it to the size of a small watermelon I was able to push the dart halfway to the dart board before the tip punctured it. (Then I scrambled to get a few pics before it deflated.)

I didn't notice to be honest. The way I held it made it only touch the area around my lips really and I dont make a habit of licking them.
