The theme for this Assignment is "Fall". I've left this as vague as I can since there are more interpretations this way...

Guidelines (just to keep us all on track)

* Photo(s) must relate to the Theme in some way. Creative relation to the theme is certainly allowed (and encouraged). Anything that is related in some way is legal.
* Assignment is finished.
* Only photos that have been shot within the assignment date range are allowed.
* No signup is required, participation is encouraged regardless of skill or equipment level (after all, its not the camera, it’s the photographer,)…we’re here to have fun.
* Photo size limit: 800px on the longest side
* Basically, photograph however you like and normally do…whatever photography is to you. As many (or few) bodies/lenses/formats//Post-processing as you’d like. Sticking to basic PP is encouraged, tho’.
* If you’d like, post brief but relevant photo information and note PP (if any) is done (*Free GIMP software*). Maintain EXIF data if possible.
* Keep comments on topic, constructive, and considerate.
* Have fun!

I'm guessing you mean the foilage type of fall.

Yep, that's the point. Sure it's Fall right now so foliage is the easy/obvious option, but I try to keep the subject matter as vague as possible so you can go out and shoot a falling star, someone tripping, or anything else you think applies.

i took a couple shots today for this, Ill post them tonight as my work computer cant process RAW. I really should put PS on here.

the lighting gives the leaves a "fall" color.

Of course when I finally have time to get out and take photos, and with my new lens, it rains all day for both of my days off! :angry: Also, my mom is in town, so I have been spending lots of time with her.

But you guys don't care about that, and you don't want excuses, so here are my Fall photos:


All were taken with 17-55mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S DX lens.

i was blind shooting.... tossed the camera on top of the guage pod... held it as still as i could, and clicked....

took a WHOLE LOT of crappy ones,

but i knew i nabbed the shot i wanted when i saw that one come up on the LCD...

It's a great image, but it could use more PP beyond the border (which looks great). It's a tad too cool and could use more contrast, maybe more saturation (I'd have to see it warmer and with more contrast first). But the composition is nice.

I wish I'd composed a tad more to the left... That whole leaf should be in the frame and I don't need all of the branch.



Fall's a bit weird here this year with some trees turned, some past and blown off, and some still green:




the dog was having a blast running in the leaves in the park:

^ your dog looks like hes booking it! I like #3 the best, Its weird to see green trees still, most of the trees here are bare already.

Yeah, weirdest fall ever. Some trees are super dry so they've turned and dropped. Some have plenty of water so they're still green... And yes Moseley is super fast. Faster than the AF on the 5D and 70-200 when he runs right at me sometimes... I get about 75% in focus but as he gets close it can't keep up.

#1 & 2 too are hard to focus on. i don't know if there is just too much orange for me.

i really like #3.

It's a couple days late, but there are no new assignments, so here is one of mine.

Love the last one, great balance with the blue and yellows.

Wow, that blue in the second one is dark! I love it.

All I did was use my polarizer. I'm glad I did. I was amazed at how deep the blue was!

Im surprised you still have colors like that! We have nothing but brown here... It was freezing rain last night.

The leaves are falling pretty heavily now--we are definitely past the peak. I thought I'd get out and shoot some more foliage while I still had some time. There are some maples down here that are still just spectacular.
