    Nice Dan!

maybe it just me, but IMHO crop less so it's a tad sharper. (why I rarely show anything cropped that tight)

I am still trying to learn ISO, App, shutter while messing with white balance and not vigneting (?) or trying not to.

    So far I suck.

With UV filter not good so I removed it,

    without

    Still experimenting,

I was experimenting by adjusting certian aspects for example ISO to the max for one shot and then the minimum the next to try and get a feel of what was happening.

I'm trying to learn. I still have a lot of work to do in order to understand light and its effects.

I was using a 24-70 f2.8 lens on my D50, and it was dark minus some house lights.

Trying out my new IS 150-500 Sigma.

This was from a good tripod, with remote used, in my yard with image stabilization on too, even though I doubt it needed under those conditions.

Cropped, not a lot but maybe a 25% crop. I was pretty impressed with that lens, even on the SD14. P&P was minimal, only un-sharp mask and white balance correction.

Almost 100% crop. Need to reshoot with a better exposure. Hasn't been a clear sky in Texas for a couple days.

It's almost a full moon so I thought I'd give a test shot last night. Shot @ 200mm. I sure am liking the idea of that Sigma 500mm.

First attempt. As a newbie this lesson gave me some practical experience to
dry reading. Thanks for that!. Still, I think I could do better... maybe Monday
as it's supposed to be a clear night.

That thing in the lower left that looks like a pipe cleaner is the Liberty Memorial tower in Kansas City. The little white dot in the upper right is, in fact, the moon.

It was raining dogs and cats here this morning, didn't bother with the telescope. Doesn't sound like I missed anything anyway.
