My poor old nifty fifty 50mm 1.4 USM was unable to pull itself out of closest focus under AF, but it worked manually.

I took the little thing apart, blew it out and reassembled and now it works! It sounds kinda dry and scratchy, but considering what it's been through I'm OK with that!

Now I can spend the replacement money on something else, like a 35 2.0 or something.

I'm gonna keep an eye on it though and see if it continue to behave now. I don't want to have to replace it, but I will if it gets to that point. It'll either be good to go now or it's still not long for this world. Time will tell!
