Default  So I found out I get a discount from dell and they sell lenses...

So yeah. I was messing around on my downtime the other day at work and found out that seeing as I'm a state employee I get a discount on things from dell.com

I was looking around and found that they have lenses at a rather good rate for the lenses I would be after though only 3 of them qualify...

EF-S 55-250 mm f/4-5.6 IS Telephoto Zoom Lens (don't really care for this one but i posted it...)
    Manufacturer Part# 2044B002
    Dell Part# A1605375
    Starting Price----$279.99
    EPP Discount----$50.00
    Subtotal----------$229.99

EF 70-300 mm f/4-5.6 IS USM Telephoto Zoom Lens (not a bad deal but I already have this lens).
    Manufacturer Part# 0345B002
    Dell Part# A0944504
    Starting Price $599.99
    EPP Discount $70.00
    Subtotal $529.99

They also have a deal for the nifty 50mm canon lens for 85 bucks for me as well but it's not on the site right now, I called them up and asked for other lenses that I can get a discount on and that was one of them.

I've found the Dell EPP to be a bit of a ripoff. Their starting prices on equipment in the EPP store are more expensive than the starting prices on their normal gear so when you apply the discount it is the same or only a fraction less. I found a laptop at Best Buy that was cheaper (after tax) than the same model from their EPP store! Checking on their camera gear its the same or more than B&H without coupons or searching elsewhere. I'm not a Dell EPP fan :/

yeah, it's pretty damn sad, looking around I can get the same products from other people for the same price or better....

dell is a rip off company as it is....

Yeah, but you do get a discount. That's important. Right?
If it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done.

what's even worse is that it's only on certain lenses.... the ones they know that they are raping you on as it is and are willing to take a little less rape on.... lol

But the "discount" is simply a higher starting price and a fixed cost savings (different on every product) applied that matches or is worse than buying it somewhere else on any regular day. Dell = suck when it comes to their coupons or EPP.
