Default  Canon 15mm Fisheye on FF-vs-1.3-vs-1.6.

I'll be adding more shots to this later, but I figured I'd show how the 15mm looks on the different sensor sizes for anyone considering it.

I've take 2 images with the 15mm FE and drawn in where it would be cropped to on a 1.3 and 1.6 body. I did this by setting the images size to 36mm x 24mm, then cropping that to 28.7mm x 18.7mm for the 1.3 and 22.2mm x 14.8mm for the 1.6. This considerably removes the fishiness of the lens IMHO because the distortion is much greater at the corners.

    Here they are:

here are some other samples from the lens:

tonight I hope to test the 15mm FE against the 12mm end of the sigma EX DG from the same place and then defish the fisheye.

Thanks, this def. helps. I may want to wait until I get a 5D before picking one up.

the other options are much better on a 1.3 or 1.6 crop.

    canon examples:
    sigma 8mm fisheye:

    tokina 10-17mm fisheye:

I've heard great things about both. Not sure what they do exactly though... IE they may have black circles or they may not. The peleng actually isn't that bad for what you pay. It's ~$300 I think. The lenses linked above are ~$550+
