    Default  My fiancee rules!

So today is my birthday, and she got me the Sigma 10-20mm lens I've been wanting. I haven't had a great chance to shoot with it, mostly inside the house (in low light). These are hand held and I had to bump up ISO to get anything non-blurry without using a tripod. Here's a couple straight out of the rebel.

It's funny how wide it is inside though. You to the couch in the second shot looks like ~15', but in the first, the back of that couch to the windows looks like ~5'... UWA are fun as hell, no go out and shoot!!!

oh and imagine how much bigger those prints on the wall would look if you had a 5D!!!

I was going to point out that wall - I think it was in another thread that I wanted to show you guys a pic of the way I've got my stuff. I set it up so I can put more pics if I want, and the frames were cheap at michaels.

And whoa, sweetness. Another good bday present - flickr isn't blocked at work anymore!

I'm priming Kris on the 5D idea. I told her the one that I'd really want cause its awesome is a 5D, but the 40D would probably be sufficient. I'll have to see how it goes, I think she thinks I'm a bit crazy about all the photo stuff.

Good news is we talked today about what I'll do with the rebel when I get whatever body is next. I told her I'd probably keep it around and she could shoot with it if she wants to - she said "yeah, I'd probably like that, it'd be fun"

happy birthday, also do you live in a converted barn? Even with the distortion those rooms still look huge.

Its an old masonic lodge, the main room is 30'x40' roughly, not quite true rectangle shape.

So I'm out playing around today. Got a couple while screwing around.

This one is cropped (I wish the light pole wasn't in the foreground):

    1/3200, f/4, iso 100 -1ev, 10mm (I'd meant to shoot at f/8 or so but didn't check).

    It was cropped from this:

Here's another, its definitely different getting used to the wideness of the lens. I'm not really matching up what I want in the pic with whats on the shot yet.

    1/2500, f/5.6, iso 100, -1ev, 20mm

I also shot these in raw and messed a bit with them there. Seems like something thats not a huge pain or anything to do, and the pics look slightly better (I shot a couple samples of raw vs. jpg)
