Default  Cheap Speedlight grids/materials for DIY grids

Found this link for a cheap alternative for grids. take a look, seems like a decent solution for strobist geeks.

I think i will be ordering some soon to try out.

    http://www.saxonpc.com/

They have velcro attachment solutions to go with it and the ability to custom order sizes for a couple bucks more.

Any idea how resistant those materials are to melting?

The site has them rated to 200 degrees F.

some of the more raw products come in either plastic or cell aluminum, the aluminum is up to 400 degrees F all the plastic is 200 degrees F.

I have a thread on these here. I bought them, they are made of aluminum. At least the ones I got are.

I used cocktail straws cut down in a homemade box.
When in doubt, just shoot the hell out of it
