    Default  umbrellas/stands

Can anyone recommend me an umbrella/stand combo for me for relatively cheap? B&H has this set up but $100 is a little but more than I would like to spend/the reviews say that the umbrella has limited mobility. Thanks guys!

you're looking at 6 parts and for $100 that's not terrible... That's <$20 each. If you go dealextreme.com you can probably half that pretty easily though.

Nick, I picked up some Calumet stands on sale from Calumet in Cambridge. A 13 ft stand was $45, and a 10ft stand was $29. The 10 ft air cushioned and non air cushioned are the same price. An umbrella mount would cost you $15-40 depending on how much you wanted to spend, and that just leaves the cost of the umbrella.

That's actually a pretty good deal. I got one stand, umbrella and clamp from Amazon for about $63.

I've got a question about those stands as well. They look like the stands have a hot shoe mount. How does that work when I need use my eBay triggers? I would need a 3/4th thead mount wouldn't I?

The clamps have a dummy hotshoe mount. You would put your ebay receiver(assuming it has a hotshoe mount) into that hs mount and then attach your flash to the receiver.

Check this place out for cheap stands http://www.photographerswarehouse.com/ I bought a couple "Clearance (B)" stands last year for like $8 a piece and I have no idea where the supposed "blemishes" are, they work just fine for what they are, light weight stands. They also have decent umbrellas on that site (or try ebay). I'd spend a little more on the brackets since that's what is actually holding your flash and umbrella and if you do upgrade to better stands you can always transfer those.

all of the stands are sold out in the "clearance b" section... And I still dont really understand the other stands with the mounting to my triggers.
