I would start by looking at photo books that are similar to how you would want yours to look, and see what company published them. Fire off a preliminary email to the company and see what their requirements are. They need material to publish so I would expect them to be more helpful to you than anything else.

word, carl said there's quite a few companies online that publish, i'm going to look into it later this afternoon. pretty much i want no text, full page pictures and dimensions around 6"x8" maybe 50 pages or so.

Would these be food related pictures?

no, i have an idea that i've been itching to get into book form. something simple that lots of people can relate to.
the food thing would be cool because i have a lot of connections, but i'll need to think of the proper angle to approach it.

Yeah what I mean by that is you create and upload a PDF or whatever of the book and if someone orders they print it out and you get a portion of the proceeds. It's a print on demand system, requires no publisher to back you and from what this guy has said (he's the assistant dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at RIT which includes photography and a major printing school) it's reasonably affordable because they use printing technologies designed for that kind of usage: low volume or one off digital printing.

I own this joint!

yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.
