finally got NSOP's address changed: http://www.facebook.com/newschoolofphotography

I also learned how to post to my fan page from the iPhone tonight, that's huge because I'll be posting mobile shots to them now while I'm doing either NSOP meets or shooting landscapes for my blog.

19 more and Daily Duluth Photo hits 500.

Out of the 481 fans, I am getting on average 150 website hits a day. I seriously would have thought that number would be higher.

Nice, Shawn. I think that's a pretty good number though... I'd kill for 150 hits a day.

And, coincidentally, Light of the Wild needs 18 more to hit 500! We're going to be at 10,000 in no time...

I'm actually averaging 71.33 hits per day over the last month... but it isn't translating to many sales.... hopefully that will change eventually. And, those numbers are a bit skewed as I had one day where I received 435 in one day...

do you know what average means?

BJ.com gets ~330 views a day according to WP stats, ~125 according to analytics.
BJP.com gets ~100/day on WP and ~40/day on google.
gear gets ~50/day on WP stats and ~15/day on analytics.

I have no idea why they're so different. It can't be me because I don't go to my sites that often. I know google's counting unique hits, maybe WP is counting each page as a visit?

the difference comes in because WP knows what it serves up, GA relies on a piece of javascript being loaded to count your traffic. The GA script can be fooled/circumvented with browser/security settings. As well as when a page does not fully load.

GA also tracks visits more stringently than WP or a raw log file, by looking at cookie/ip data to see if someone left the site within X minutes and returned, or was dormant, then started browsing again. WP and raw logs count things a little more broadly.

Oh, and if you add a filter to your GA account, you can block your visits from skewing your results.

^ whoa, thanks. Yeah, no need for that script though, the sites I care about get enough hits my own won't change it.

    no problem.

have you messed with the map overlay of GA? kind of cool to see exactly where your traffic comes from, well exactly where user ISPs are (AOL and a few others throw it off a little, it's accurate for the most part.)

yeah, that map is clunky though so I don't play with it much. CA TX MA and RI are out leaders here with NC next.

It's a little clunky, I find it's still interesting to look at state views and see which cities are visiting, helps with targeted advertising efforts.

weird. How long have you had a normal account there? I started my BJP page before the NSOP one though, so maybe I'm just getting the NSOP stats because of the timing of the other page? Not sure, I never noticed them until whoever posted them above put that in here...

it's the standard fb app for iPhone. You just go to your friends list, then at the bottom there is has pages, hit that button and you get a page list, pick the page and then it looks exactly the same as you personal feed in terms of posting reading or whatever.

    google brought this up:
    http://socialmediaseo.net/2009/08/22...es-blackberry/

I found out how as an ad on the side of my fan page actually ON FACEBOOK... When I found it it had a BB tutorial as well so maybe refresh your fan page a few times in a browser to see if it pops up?

He just bought a huge house, like 8k sq feet.

I'm slightly concerned over printing that big, but it should be OK I guess, they're both full resolution shots from my 40d without a crazy amount of PP. I have Rolling In in my house at 30" wide and it looks small, bigger will be really badass.

Yeah, dude do a test print before you confirm with him.

Hi, I will need to do a test print at that resolution before I can sell one to you. I do this with all prints I sell and especially because this is such a large, non standard request.

    Or something like that.
