Again, this is something I am sure I said I will never do. After seeing so many other photographers use it to keep in touch with friends, family and customers, I figured why not.

Nothing fancy, still trying to figure everything out. Hopefully I will be able to keep it updated regularly. I need to figure out how to add it as an RSS feed. I also need to personalize it a bit more.

you should really consider getting everything into your own domain shawn. No offense, but (at least to me) blogs seem much more professional if they're not a .blogspot.... And you have your own space, so it would be super easy to work in there. Do you have FTP access to your domain? I can walk you through it.

I'm also pretty close to adding a blog to my photography site. I just made my other 2 blogs identical so they blend together, and I'm considering doing the same for benjacobsenphoto.com

    Ben makes all good points.

As for the RSS feed, you should see it in the right corner of the URL bar. I"m looking at your feed right now.

I agree with Ben on going to your own hosting. Blogspot is great for what it is, (as is wordpress.com) but it's definitely going to come across more professional on your own hosting with a unique URL.

my other huge gripe (which can also be a ton of fun if you're bored) is the whole "next blog" thing.
It can be something fine, it can be porn...

    thanks guys.
I have my own hosting and can send this to my domain at anytime.
Also, I tried the one click install wordpress blog and didn't like it.

As soon as I get this set I will turn it over to my domain/web host.
It is currently easier for me to mess around with it here until I get familiar with it.

Since I am not a code whore, blogspot is a ton easier to use. It seemes to me with wordpress, it wasn't as user friendly.

    +1

and shawn, don't take that the wrong way, I have a CS degree, so it's always interesting to see who uses what and why. A few friends of mine have blogspot's but my sister and parents both have wordpress blogs. Mainly because they liked mine so much they wanted one and who do you think set it up...

I haven't had time to set up my website too much but I'm basically just planning on doing a blog with a linked gallery for now. I know my family would like to be able to keep up with what Kris and I are doing on a regular basis and it seems to be an easy way.

Both my parents and Kris', as well as people from work are constantly commenting on the pictures that I upload to flickr when they see me, thats how they know where we're going lately or what we're up to.

I'm thinking I'll go back and set up my website wtih wordpress once I get time, but thats been at a huge premium this week and the last few. Someday soon I guess!

I just started my blog too, but through squarespace. I really like how my images came across versus blogspot. I would eventually like to move to my own domain sometime though, but i don't know how to code stuff & it is so easy to just have it all templated (is that a word LOL) for you.
