    Default  Slideshow or not?

    www.LightOfTheWild.com <-- Click for slideshow.

I decided my website needed something a bit more interactive/interesting on the main page so I made a slideshow. I also think it will help show people some of my best shots from all the galleries without them actually having to click on all them...

So, what do you guys think?

Yay or nay? Any critique/comments, I literally just put it up and have no idea what I'm doing, so any (constructive) input is much appreciated.

One issue I already have with it is that it seems to run really slow for me... but then again, my computer is also complete garbage. How is it for everyone else?

Yeah, I just made it private... the pics are too damn big or something. I'll re-size and do some adjustments then bump this thread. Thanks, Jay.

    Ben, here's a preview...

    Click one of his pics...
    Then click the next...

    Then crash your browser.

    Bump!

I down-sized all the shots, but I still think it's too slow...

But check it out, it should at least semi-work...

It rolls through the images fine and looks really good, but if I try to scroll down to see your galleries the scrolling is choppy.

the transitions between photos is a little quick and choppy. can you slow it down? maybe a 2 second transition? could just be me, though.

I liked the slide show, and the concept, but the transition of the pictures were random, some were fade in and out, some were instantanous, and some had these open door closed door type feel.

Apparently it slowed down my computer...trying to see why though

    Scott,
to you, the website feel like it needs "something" because you look at it a lot.
But in all honesty, your images speak for themselves and when people visit your site they will not have the same feeling that you have. They will see nothing but the images and be blown away.

Thanks, guys. I suppose I'll leave it alone for a while. But, my main reasoning is that I'd like to show some of my best work, right there, where a visitor can't avoid it and won't miss them since they're spread out across various galleries.

Maybe I should make a personal favorites gallery?
