Default  New high and low for me in same week

So I got an email friday from the sports editor of our area's daily paper to cover some local sports. Freelancing for this paper has been a major goal of mine that I set this year. Got the phone call about an hour ago that they ran one of my images on the front page of the sports section Oh, and it's right editors never pick the best image you send them and always crop them funny!

But, right before I left to go pick up a copy to celebrate I get an email that this annual event i've been working with for a couple years has decided to reject my contract this year. They are gonna pursue collecting images from all the spectators for free I can't wait to see how that works out for them.

It could be a big month for me, I think I might get my first magazine too! It's the month of may in indy (500 race) and I might have landed a shot I took of Mario Andretti in a magazine.

Still pissed about losing that contract though!

Congrats on the first news! Sorry about the second. You should go and be a spectator and take the best shots of anybody there. When they realize they have crappy shots from the rest of the spectators you roll in with your album and charge them double!

tell them you'll take backup pictures in exchange for an open bar.

and no promises of level horizons.
