Ok persistence finally paid off... I've been given the opportunity to assist and second shoot a wedding on Saturday with a pro photog.

I offered to shoot for free in order to get an in... I know I'm getting screwed moneywise but I want to develop a relationship with this person. I'm hoping that she'll be impressed with my hard work and results and want to use me for other events.

There's no post processing to do except what I want to since I keep the rights to my photos for my portfolio.

I really want to impress her...

A lot of PMing requestors on the texasphotoforums.... I got turned down many times before I found this one. The competition is really feirce for these spots because it allows you the fun of photographing without all the real pressure of being the REAL photog.

I'm fine doing either but the more experience I can get the better off I'll be.

i'm going to be shooting events/displays/setups/food for my GF's catering company starting next week. i'll also be doing it for free, i just want photo credit to get my name out there and involved with food photography. the company is totally clueless, they have just random stock photos on their website!

So... what did you think? Was this your first wedding as a working photog?

this was my first one for someone I didn't know. I've done two before as a primary but they were for friends of mine.

I had a good time... I was shooting mostly the candids and guest shots so I wasn't able to get any of the real money shots. That and my external flash craped out during the actual ceremony so I had to go to the built in for a little while.

I was wearing new shoes this time instead of my old broken in ones. I probably shouldn't have done that.

All in all it was a good experience. I'm really hoping I hear from her again.
