    Default  Print sizes and selling

I was looking at Scott's website, and saw that he's got only some pictures listed at all sizes. The availability makes sense whether its 8x10 or 8x12 and the associated ratios, but how are you deciding what sizes to sell of each print?

A couple don't have 16x24's, some do, what gives?

    Camera/MP related for detail?

A likely explanation is that some images, when shot too tight in camera, can't be pleasantly cropped to certain formats, so it makes sense to either shoot with all potential crops in mind, or (as in this case) not offer prints that would be cropped and look like crap (lost feet, lost tops of heads, etc.).

    Pretty much nailed it.

8x10, 11x14, 16x20 = All 4:5 ratio because thats how they work best. I won't crop a 2:3 image to 4:5 to sell it, there's a reason I didn't crop it in the first place.

8x12, 12x18, 16x24 = All 2:3 out of camera ratio. DEFINITELY what I prefer my images to be in.

Now, if the bigger sizes aren't listed its because I either had to crop the image to get the original file so its a smaller file than the out of camera 8 MP or it just doesn't have the quality I want at that bigger size.

I can't wait to have a 5D. Then I can stop turning down 20x30 requests.

    Does that clear it up/

Yup, it was exactly what I'd guessed too.
