    Default  RI Shoot May 18th!!!

Thinking of mixing things up... anyone ever spent time at Roger Williams Park?

Springtime should be good. Not next weekend... but maybe the 2nd weekend in May?

The only time I've ever spent there, you were there with the Wagon KC. If I have time I'm down. It would be the 3 of us and we'd be there to walk also.

I might be up (actually down) for a RI shoot in late May. I can make another post at the time ... all I want to do is sit down with Ben and absorb years of Canon knowledge No, wait, I'm serious.

(i'd like to absorb some knowledge from matt & leah too, but i think of you as NY. don't you live in NY? what the heck are you always doing in ri?)

It would be fun to get a big group together. The zoo is also there, but I'd rather check out the park. I just realized this is roger williams, not colt, so I haven't really explored it much and would love too...

Who knows their way around? I always seem to get lost trying to go anywhere in there except to the zoo....

It's just someplace different, a challenge if you will. The park has many beautiful and photogenic places. I took these in 2003 with my old Olympus E-10.

have you seen the threads after a meet here before?
We're always shooting each other, probably more so than wherever we are. It's half the fun.

Anyway, next weekend is the second weekend in may people, so 8/9 days away? Eric has requested Sunday, anyone have any issues with that? Nikki has said she'll come and also agreed we might end up at the zoo in ~an hour.

    Who IS coming?
    Who MIGHT come?
Any issues with either day beyond Eric's request for Sunday?

    Hmmm....

our mothers day brunch is early Sunday, but Nikki just said "why's it on mothers day?" and gave me this look:

so I'd bet that means the next weekend would be better. It's also the spring Newport boat show, but that's Friday Saturday and Sunday, so I can go the other weekend day.

Alright found it, mentioned in my Fast 50 thread in Lenses. 18th would work for me. By the way if any of you in the RI/CT area are down for BBQ on the 17th, let me know. I am doing the 3rd annual Brisket Bash at my joint. PM for directions if you can make it and maybe want to stop in, and I will PM with directions, and time. BYOB, BYOC (Bring your own chair). Bring Camera. Have Pentax's, have Nikon if you forget yours, and film.
I can probably make the 18th though. I was just up in Newport on the 11th, so I want to get back up there, and maybe shoot some lighthouses or seascape stuff on the way home down in Narragansett maybe.
I suggest a late afternoon meet time.

I'll ask nikki what she thinks, but she thought it'd be fun when I brought it up last time. Not sure how long we'll hang with the group, but we'll certainly try to meet up with everyone. Maybe I can hand deliver straps?
