    Default  adirondacks in october

yeah, i'm making a second thread from the catskills in summer thread. i still want to do a catskills meet this summer. in addition, how about an adirondacks meet in october?

my place is free for all. we've got 4 bedrooms, 2 big couches, a pull out couch in one of the bedrooms, and i think 5 beds between the bedrooms. plenty of room for all. pretty much all you would pay for is gas, food, and drinks.

my place is in speculator, ny, which is an hour from amsterdam, 1.5 hrs from albany, 1.5 hrs from lake placid, just over an hour from utica, 4.5-5 hrs from providence.

and if you feel weird about staying at a semi-strangers house, then there are plenty of hotels in the area, but they may be booked due to foliage season.

First of all, thanks for offering up your house!

I think we'd totally be down for this. I love foliage season!

Hello there, I'm new on this forum and stumbled upon this thread. I've been looking to meet fellow photographers and go shoot in nature. The Adirondacks sounds great. Because of family situation (we have a baby), it's quite unpredictable but I'd definitely be up for it. I'm located in Westchester, NY, could probably even drive somebody up there.

Ahhh... too bad I'm in Texas now. The adirondacks are so beutiful that time of year. I do miss the fall in New York. Years ago, I used to go up to that area at New Years for a week with a large group of friends to snowmobile. I kinda miss that, but not shoveling and bundling and cold etc.

october 17-19. i will be leaving my house around 7-9 in the morning so i'll be up there around noon time Friday.

feel free to come up anytime after that. i'll be cooking spaghetti and meatballs friday night (hey it's simple and easy to make for many much).

the house is located on elm lake road, speculator, ny. there aren't any house numbers, but it's pretty easy to get to. it's the 5th house on the road. the driveway is directly across from a "end school zone" sign. the house is a tan cape between two log cabins. if you go by wilbur lane, you've gone to far. once i have definite yeses, i'll pm you my phone number.

Are there any grocery stores nearby so we can get other things to cook at the house? Is there a grill there?

there's a grocery store just down the road from the house. it's cheaper to buy groceries on the way up than in town. there's a hannifords and super wal-fart on the way. there's a couple of bars/restaurants in town. there's a gas station, a couple of stores, a bank, and that's about it. we do have a grill, yes.

I'd love to go, if there's still room (+ wife and baby possibly). I guess she'll feel better to know that another baby may be there as well. We have a pack n play too. She's a great cook, by the way (ok, I'm dead if she reads that post).

we've got 4 bedrooms, a pull out couch and king sized bed in one (two twins that could be pulled apart if needed), a king sized bed in the master, a queen in one, and a double and twin and twin mattress in the fourth. in addition, we've got two air mattresses and two couches, and plenty of floor space. i don't care where i sleep, so i'm probably going to take one of the couches.

there should be room for everyone without much/any issue.

We also have a full-size aerobed that we can bring along just in case it's needed. It may be unlikely that we'll need it, but I just thought I'd at least throw the offer out there.
