Well, looks like I'm going to be down a lot sooner than I thought.

I'll be down on the evening of July 4th, and leaving on July 15th.

The funeral is on the 5th, and I'll probably stay in the College Station area for a couple days.

I know that doesn't leave a whole lot of time to do stuff, and I know that middle of the week meets can be tough to do, but if someone wants to meet up for a drink or dinner or something just to hang out, that's cool with me. I'm pretty much just going to drift around until the 11th, when I have to be in Del Rio where I'm spending the weekend with my best friend.

Yeah, but I'm close enough to Houston and Austin I can hit those up. And will be driving through (and maybe staying in) San Antonio as well. I'm pretty much just going to go wherever the wind takes me, and am up for doing anything.

Yeah, I don't think I'll be able to do anything Sunday... The services are on Saturday, and I think we're supposed to be doing 'family stuff' on Sunday.

I'm still getting info and whatnot from my family, I'm sure I'll have better details about when exactly I'll be free to meet up in the days to come.

OK time for an update...

I'm going to stay IN New Braunfels from the 8th-11th. If anyone wants to meet up for dinner, drinks, shooting or Schlitterbahn (oh god I want to go to Schlitterbahn but probably won't

), that's where I'll be.

I'll be in Houston by late afternoon on the 14th and I'm only staying for the one night...probably around Humble (haven't booked a hotel yet) since I'm leaving first thing on the 15th. Marisa, I'm looking at you lady!! We need to meet up!!

I'm sure we'll all be able to figure out some sort of meet between now and then.

It sucks that this trip is on such a tight-ish schedule, but I'm thrilled I'll at least get to meet and say hi to a few of you Texans

I'm most likely staying in Humble...that seems to be where the more decently priced hotels are. I'm probably going to book the hotel tonight, so I'll let you know ASAP. Totally looking forward to the margaritas!!

I can get to downtown SA in about 1:15 without traffic and probably 1:45 (if I'm lucky and no wrecks on 35) with traffic. On a Friday night that would put me there about 8:30pm if I can make it.

The best time to meet in SA for me would be a Saturday or Sunday day. We can get margaritas and make a drunken shoot out of it! Plus, we can make it a family outing and bring all of our kids!

I still don't think between the two of us we would outnumber the tbert clan, though. Even if Ted showed up.

It was a Serrano's. The kids wanted some nachos and I was craving a taco so we stopped at the first place we saw. I've eaten there before in the past and don't remember getting sick, but you can bet I won't go back there for a long time if EVER!

Ok, so I think I'm going to do the tourist thing today and head over to the "Natural Bridge Caverns" and "Bracken Village" for a few hours. Sounds interesting, and hopefully I will get some cool pictures.
