    It depends on whether you want a shoulder bag or a backpack type. Personally, I HATE shoulder type bags, but that's more because of how and what I shoot than anything. Lots of people like them.

    I have both, For the gear that you have the dg is fine. If you buy the XTi kit, youll get the bag, a UV filter, and an extra battery for the XTi. should be < $100.

    Either is fine, its something you have to pick for yourself really - shoulder or backpack.

    I use shoulder bags a lot, but for carrying a lot of gear or wandering longer distances the backpacks are much nicer. A disadvantage of most backpacks compared to shoulder bags is it's hard to have quick access to anything in them generally without taking them off.

    actually I'm plannng on the battery grip for my XTi, the 430 Canon flash, another lens or two, 1 or 2 more memory cards, filter kit, and maybe a few more things.

    We picked ours up for $75, although the weird part is there super hard to find.

    I voted shoulder since I use 3 shoulder bags and haven't yet found a backpack I like...
