    Default  best Graduated Filters

I currently have a 2 stop grad ND B+W filter which is a flawless filter as far as quality goes.
However, I am wondering if a cokin style would be better? I want to get a 3 stop grad, but not sure if I should get another B+W filter mount or invest in something else?
I don't want junk, I want good glass.

Singh-Ray. If you want quality, that's the number one in the field when it comes to grad. NDs and otherwise.

Although, I'm a big time supporter of Hi-Tech as well. Never been a Cokin fan, I've heard bad things about them and I know very little about Lee filters.

Is there one type of holder you guys prefer? I get very confused with all the different types. Cokin, in particular.

It doesn't really matter to me. As long as it fits your filters, allows you to rotate it off horizontal and allows you to move the filter up and down, you're good to go in my opinion.

Thanks for the info. Looks expensive. LOL
Well, I paid about $80 for my B+W

Yeah, Singh-Rays are no joke price-wise.

I recently purchased a set of Hi-Tech 4x5s for $70/ea, I expect them to be pretty high quality just like my old Hi-Techs. I only upgraded because I went to full-frame and my old ones would have been too small.

Let me guess, you sold the old ones.

P.S. If they go over the end of your lens, why would it matter if you had full frame or not?

Where did you order the Hi-techs from?

Wait a minute, they are resin filters, not glass?

Yeah, I sold the old ones, actually to a member on here.

As for sizing, they are too small because the 5D is full-frame versus the 1.6x crop factor of my 30D. Thus, 17mm is WAY wider than it used to be so I needed a bigger filter to cover the new field of view.

I ordered them from 2filter.com. I think they're resin, but honestly, who cares? The quality/end result is all that matters to me.
