Default  Who owns Induro tripods or heads?

and what are your impressions of them?

There is a local camera shop closing and all Induro products are 30% off, Bogen 25%.

I am looking for a mini-ballhead and was looking at the 484RC2 but saw this Induro

    http://www.amazon.com/Induro-SA-01-T...3007600&sr=8-7

at the shop for $50 - the 30% brings it down to $35.

I just have a cheap Sunpak tripod now but at 30% off and tax return money coming soon I may try to set aside $100 for a tripod...

i have experience with a range of sunpak tripods (unfortunately) so i'm pretty sure that will be a HUGE improvement. i know bogen makes great products too, are the prices on those guys good?

Yeah, I would imagine it to be big improvement but I do not really use tripods too much, maybe once or twice a year (normally when I need to be in the picture) so never cared that much but at 30% off it might be worth it.

The Bogens were priced decent but still more than the Induro at a lesser discount and since I do not use them too much was thinking the Induro might be ok for me.

I was thinking I might be needing the ballhead though as I did pick up the Gorillapod which I could see using more than a regular tripod and wanted it for that.

Seems Induro is part of the MAC Group so they are in good company?

since you don't use the tripod that often, check these out:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/PROFESSIONAL-PHO...QQcmdZViewItem

i know it's fleabay and sort of an off-brand but it suits my needs fine for the time being. i don't use my tripod that often (it's one step up from this model, but basically the same) but when i do it has been fine. it's lightweight with good build quality and the ball-head is nice and smooth/stable. the mounting plate (name?) for the camera itself is well-constructed of metal and it comes with a nice carrying bag/case with a sling style strap. the legs are strong and collapse/extend quickly with well-built clamp things, plus it's really adjustable.

i think mine was under $40 after shipping, a pretty damn good deal for an aluminum ball-head tripod i use maybe once a week.

So I went ahead and picked this up http://www.amazon.com/Induro-SA-01-T...3007600&sr=8-7 because the deal seemed great, $35.

Now I am seriously looking at a tripod too (tax return appeared in our bank account today)

    Giotto MT 9360

    http://www.amazon.com/Giottos-Alumin.../dp/B000OLY5V0

    or

    Induro Alloyflex AX214

    http://www.indurogear.com/products_details_AX214.html

They are within $10 of each other $160-$170 and there would be an additional 30% off bringing it to around $125 out the door.
