Default  B&W 77 mm Circular Polarizer Multi-Coated Slim Filter (Carl!)

So, my current circular polarizer vignettes on my 5D + 17-40 from 17-22 mm and I hate it.

Thus, I sold it on POTN and I need a new one. I'm looking at this one...

Any thoughts? It's a slim filter (3 mm) so it shouldn't vignette but past that I know nothing about it. It's multi-coated though and B+W, so it should be good, right?

Carl, I want you to reply.

B+W makes good stuff! Pricier than others, I have bought Hoya in the past because their optics are also excellent, and generally cheaper.

I hate how the "wide" filters always cost more, but if you're having these issues with the 5D and 17-40 then I will too when I get a full frame camera. I've never used my 17-40 on my EOS 3 so I've never seen an issue with vignetting.

Short story: nothing wrong with that choice! B&W makes solid stuff with brass rings which I generally like.

Awesome. I'm fine with the price... I'll use it enough that I want something damn nice that I can keep for a while.

    Thanks, Carl.

    +1 on B+W being quality.

Yeah, my current polarizer is a B+W but it's the normal version and thick as hell (compared to a 3mm slim).
