It's just a question of time. I bet there are beta versions out there being tested right now. Hmmm... SD > CF adapter?

    exactly.

But do you really need to WiFi you images over?
For me it would only be helpful in the office. Outside it won't help one bit which is 75% of what I shoot, and 95% of what I like.
I can see how it would be awesome for press people though, but they already have cameras that can do it.

dpreview did a review of it already, I think, and found it to be pretty slow. Still, it's only a question of time before improved versions come out.

I think it would be usable in a studio (vs. having the camera tethered), or make for a cheap substitute for the $1000 transmitter for the Mark III.

Depending on the range it would be helpful to a wedding service with multiple photogs. Some high end groups are going so far as to have several people shooting while another guy is backing up & PPing the images as they are transmitted wirelessly(while still at the event). I think the current system supports up to 5 cameras.

It'll end up draining the camera battery even faster.

I wonder if it would store the pics till you got in range of any wifi. Be kinda neat to just go shooting and you stop at a redlight and it catches someone's unsecured wifi and sent all your pics to your webserver...

I don't think battery life would be a problem... Right now I get about 1200 pics per charge and my cards don't hold that many since I usually shoot in jpg + raw.
