IF you're one of the few DNG shooters like me maybe you've noticed that the in camera compressing of the DNG files isnt so good. Once you get them into lightroom you can go to metadata>update DNG previews and metadata. It will go through your selected images, update your data and previews, but more importantly it will recompress them with better compression. If you have alot of camera native DNG files this can save you a bunch of drive space.
