    I was tweaking our logo trying to make a new favicon for our websites and I went to hit ctrl+d to deselect. Instead I accidentally hit ctrl+s, right next door, which automatically saves over the original without any confirmation. Slight panic set in! Since I was working with the original logo file that we use for everything it would really really suck to overwrite it with a 16x16 pixel version. By some shear amount of luck, the very last step showing in my 50 lines of history state was "open" (about 35 or so steps in the middle were the pencil tool tweaking 1 pixel at a time). Phew! Dodged a bullet on that one, one more mouse click and it would have been gone forever. Now I have multiple backup copies in multiple locations.

    Watch those shortcuts people! I can't believe that's the first time I've ever made that mistake.

    Nice save!

    ctrl-z wouldn't have undone the change?

    File -> revert...

    oh, and if it's something important like that, open it, copy it, paste it into a new file....

    yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.

    it will only undo the last step. And saving doesn't count.

    Windows Home Server FTW!! Anything that I save on any of my computers gets backed up each night. I can go back several days or even to monthly saved backups to restore a file.

    Only if he didn't exceed his preset undo levels.
