    Default  RAW + CS2 question.

I was processing some RAWs in PS today and I noticed for the first time an option to change the resolution. My camera is 8mp but there were options to take the images all the way up to 25mp! This was something like 6000x4000 pixels!

So of course I tried it out to see what it did. It resulted in an obscenely large picture, but since monitors aren't capable of showing all of the data that the camera is capturing I have no idea how effective it is. I would love to have access to a large format printer to test this out and get some hard results.

My question to you is, how does this work? Obviouly, if the camera is only 8mp there has to be some serious interpolation to get an image up to 25mp. Anybody else ever mess with this?

I'm gonna go do some research to see what I can come up with.

It's simply interpolating it, just as you could in PS on any image. Whether it's doing anything different, I don't know. It's likely one of the variants on bicubic interpolation Adobe has.

Check out your local Thomas Reprographics and they should be able to print off the huge plotters they have.
