    Default  IR Conversion: New option!

at work I have an old copy of CS2 installed, as I only have 2 CS3 lic. but still have 2 CS2s to use.
In proccessing some of my IR shots from this weekend, I found something I had not noticed before. I usually use CS3 ACR and use the "Convert to B+W" option and play with the colors.
However. Today I was trying some of the B+W conversion tech from the forum, and noticed that the different channels have different "options"

Image 1 is a Blue and Green only channel. These files are WAY overly red out of the camera, so there is very little blue or green in the file.
As you can see there is a LOT of contrast, and what looks like, more sharpness that the red.

Image 2 is only a Desaturate in ACR and some leveling / contrast, but as you can see the files are not the same.
Interesting that the B/G channels carry more information it looks like (makes sense from the Bayer pattern..) But its an option for if I want more of a "ghostly" IR shot (red channel) or a sharp contrasty image (G or G/B)

Nice discovery, the contrast in the first really makes a difference
