Unless the poster specifically asks for and welcomes comments/critiques, please refrain from making any post concerning the technical merits of the photos in this forum. Harsh remarks and commentary especially will not be tolerated.
I realize that this is tough for many of us, as it's second nature to analyze each photo we see for what we like/dislike, but consider this forum like "show and tell" where any photo is welcome from anyone, regardless of skill or quality.

Thanks for writing this, Ted. I catch myself doing it too often as well. I've been meaning to do a write-up in each forum (Critique and Sharing) to try to help get folks to use them for what they are. It seems the two have merged a bit as of late.

I agree with Ted and Scott. I know I've done it, and I can't tell you how many times I've had something written only to check what section and it was here so it got pared down. This section is meant to share stuff. You want to nit pick, go hang out in the critique section. This section is for fun sharing of shots and helping encourage people who are just learning. It's a fine line between being too sparkles and sunshine, and too critical, but try to find that line. The mods will be sure to point it out when you've crossed it, and handle it appropriately.

We have had a rash of critiquing in the sharing forum, often in threads that don't solicit it. I am bumping the rules threads for both forums so that everyone has fair warning and isn't surprised when I or another moderator starts handing out warnings or points.
