    Default  Months of Rain

This is the end result of several weeks of torrential downpours. This dam has been releasing 5000 cubic feet/second for over 10 days now. The lake behind the dam received something like 110 thousand acre feet of water in the last bout of storms. It's so green around here it reminds me of Costa Rica!

I went back at sunset to get better light/longer exposures.

    Just sharin!!

I think you should go back and try to do some longer exposures.

I would have loved to had stayed longer into the night, but that was my only day off for a long time and I had to meet friends for dinner. And I left my tripod at work so I had to use the wrought iron fence I was shooting through as a brace. Would you believe that the last two are 4s exposures?

4 secs is impressive for doing a balancing act.
When/if you can go back with the pod and try something at 30sec+...

IF they were still releasing at that colossal rate today, and IF I could find some time off to go back, I would probably have to distract the guard so I could climb over the wrought iron fence to get in the clear. Then, and only then, would my tripod become useful.

Some night shots at f/22 and 30s would be awesome. But I didn't have that convenience. So what you see is what you get!

I like 1 the best. Great job for handheld!!!! the dark ones are great too.

+1 on longer night exposure if possible.

Not this far inland. It drizzled a bit yesterday and it's threatening to do the same today, but I'd imagine the arid Texas landscape will suck the life out of the approaching storm long before it gets here.
