    Default  Stumbling across things

You can read my ramblings in the link above, but sometimes I stumble across older photos of things from places that I have lost track of. It's kind of fun, looking under the creaky old floorboards as it were and finding a treasure trove of random files and photos.

Man, I'm scared of what I have stored on this computer. Probably countless things I don't even remember shooting. At last check I had over 50 gigs just in My Pictures! That's not including what I've backed up to DVD or even what I have on external harddrives. I keep telling myself I should go back through the archives, but I'm just too lazy.

But I actually like that shot a lot.

It reminds me of my first TV. It was a Zenith that my parents bought when I was two. They have 8mm film movies with me playing with legos in front of the 200 pound beast, replete with faux wood grain and separate clicky dials for VHF and UHF. Probably still operated on vacuum tubes. That TV worked up until the day I gave it to Goodwill because I was sick of carrying the anachronism as I moved from house to house. That was only 4 years ago. The damn thing worked flawlessly for at least 1/4 of a century and never once needed a thing in return.

We had a Zenith TV a lot like that, probably late 70s or early 80s vintage. Got replaced in the mid 90s.

Carl, a friend of mine has a photo kind of like that one--I love photos of old crap like that that people just leave lying around...
