BTW, for anyone local to the RI area, I'm planning a NSOP BBQ at my house for this this summer. The details are a bit flaky at this point (their site isn't up yet) but yeah, come down to the beach near my house and have a good time w/o having to deal with people or hot runway, just hot sand.

    It's listed as:

    6/28/2008 6/29/2008 RI Nat'l Guard Open House/Airshow Quonset Pt, N. Kingstown RI
but the thing is the RI national guard site still has the 2007 info up:
    http://www.riguard.com/modules.php?n...howpage&pid=52

and the blue angels are in Huntsville, Alabama that weekend. Some years they don't come, but then we get the snowbirds... They're listed at the Ottawa Air Show that weekend as well. That's why I've been holding off any official announcements/invites in the meets section.....

    http://www.blueangels.navy.mil/schedules.htm
    http://www.snowbirds.dnd.ca/site/air...schedule_e.asp

I mean I'll certainly still watch from the beach, but the jets are the boys who have a large enough show to see everything there. Some of the prop planes don't leave the field really so you don't see much from my beach... If you bring a bike we can still ride over though.

But yeah, the schedule this summer looks a bit disappointing to say the least. No BAs AND no SBs?

oh, nice find KC... Funny thing is I looked up thunderbirds thinking they were the canadian team and didn't come close to that site.

Awesome that someone cool is coming though. The big jet show and the A-10 are my favs.

You should have bought the 40D a week earlier!

That shot with the moon is sweet, btw.

Edit: just noticed when this was originally posted ... guess the 40D wasn't an option then

yep, one of the joys of the 5D. That was back when I first had it so I wasn't quite so used to double checking all my shots before posting them.

pure luck... It's from a sequence as they went by us on the beach... When I got home I knew I'd have one good shot in there but had no clue the moon would be behind them....
