Lucky shot I took of Heidfeld after he had already gone past the area I wanted to get a shot of his car in

My favorite picture of the weekend, of the Scuderia Toro Rosso car during the pit walk

The big problem I had was taking pictures with the fence in the way was difficult, because either AF would hit the wrong thing, and I didn't trust myself to manually focus after doing that last year and getting screwed on some shots. I've learned a lot though, so when I go to Spa in the fall it should be better. BTW, my equipment was a 30D with 70-200 F4L IS and some were with the 50 1.8.

Freakin' sweet. Those are fantastic shots with only a 200mm zoom, although I don't know how far away you were. Good job on panning for the at-speed shots.

Interesting crops, too. I would like to see the original frames.

And I really think the last shot could be great, but it's a little dark for me.

I know this isn't the critiquing thread but ...

I agree with Pizza on the third one, I think it's has the greatest potential of the three. I would like to know if you have an original with the rest of the front area of the car in it.

Even if you didn't get the whole rear of the car in the photo in my eyes it could still be great if the whole front was included. Also I think the heads of guys in the background and the bottom of the tire should be added to the crop.

I know how you feel about the fence... I posted a thread earlier today bitching about fences.

You are lucky to be able to get that close to these cars, I would love to do that.

Wow, I was doing these on my computer at home, just looked at them at work, and yes, they are very dark.

For the third one, that is all I could get of the car, but I will brighten it up when I get home, it was taken in raw, the rest were in jpg. I was pretty close to the cars for everything but the last day (I haven't added the race day ones...they weren't very good and I got tired of working on them.) I do have a few other pictures of the car where I got the entire car, but it isn't at that angle (that was taken with the 50, so I didn't have much control)

I will try and find the originals, let me know which you want to see. One problem I had with the fence was only getting part of the car in focus. That is why I started cropping in close to the drivers, because that could be the only thing which was in focus.

I do have a lot of pictures of the entire car, I'll go through a few and post a few tonight.

I was about 200 feet for the one of Nick, and about 100 feet away from Jenson. The only time I need a 1.4 is when I was in the stands on race day.

Ben, move this if its in the wrong forum.

These are original, raw files with some changes in the brightness...but I really don't know what I'm doing on that end. Let me know what you think, and yes, some of them are large
