Since we have a Boston, DC and Long Beach thread...figured I might as well throw in some pictures of Toronto, and explain a bit about it. You've probably seen these in earlier threads, so I'm going to add more later on

#1 - This is Toronto's City Hall. You may have seen it in Resident Evil 2, they blow it up for some reason. It's actually been used in several movies, the square in front of it as well. The pond in the front is converted into an Ice Rink from November till April, and open to the public for free. I've never gone skating there. Come to think about it, I've never skated in Canada.

#2 - Intersection of Dundas and Younge Street. The busiest intersection in Toronto. It's a nice place to visit, and Toronto's version of Times Square (or so we like to think). Personally, it's a lot nicer, except there aren't any interesting stores around, just normal stores that are available in the suburbs too.

#3 - Bloor Street, and that bizarre structure in the background is the Royal Ontario Museum. Or at least an extention of it. For some reason, they thought it would be a good idea to build a pointy structure as a new wing to an otherwise beautiful museum. Still an interesting structure to check out if you're into that abstract stuff.

Nice! So, you've been to other US (and foreign) cities, how big does toronto feel -vs- other places you've been?

And I've kinda sorta been there once. One of the weather forecasters we use on the boat lives up there (and broadcasts via SSB from up there). So we drove through to some southern suburb and took him to dinner (me and the 'rents).
    I own this joint!

yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present.

Toronto just keeps going, and going, and going, until all of a sudden you're in Kitchener.

    Urban sprawl at its finest.

A few cities of note that I've been too (and remember) that I'll compare Toronto to

    Hong Kong
    Dubai
    Karachi
    New York City
    San Francisco

And to be completely honest, and perhaps I live close there, and move there right after living in Dubai for 13 years....Toronto is a little boring. I don't think it's gonna stay like that forever, there are some great initiatives to make the city more interesting such as the different festivals, that imo are amazing, but still quite young to gain any international recognition. The only thing Toronto is semi famous for is the Toronto Film Festival where a lot of great movies get released. Apparently it's second only to Cannes.

As a resident though, Toronto is a great city, lots and lots of amenities, easy to drive around, unless it's rush hour, in that case you wanna just shoot yourself. It's clean, safe, and easy to get around by car, walking or transit.

But maybe cause I haven't really lived in another city for longer then a week, it just seems like a generic American/Canadian city. Nothing too special like the ones above.

#1 is also in one of the Tony Hawk games, I can't remember which one at this time. Cool shots. I've only been to Montreal. Which I thought was a very cool city. I'd like to go back at some point.
