    Default  Argentina

With everyone’s post on Argentina here, I thought I would share my own. This past summer, I went to Argentina to spend some time with my girlfriend, Florencia who is from Argentina.

…rather than have people ask how one can have an Argentinean girlfriend (you know, because they are so mythical), I might as well just share.
We met at our college with her being an international student there. She speaks perfect English, Spanish, Hebrew, French, and can converse in Italian. She’s an amazing girl and I love her to pieces.

On that note, while in Argentina, I was lucky enough to celebrate my birthday. My gf being as wonderful as she is, surprised me and woke me up the morning of my birthday to tell me that we were going to a beautiful part of Argentina called Mar Del Plata.

While there, she took us to stay at the Sheraton:

If you’re ever in or around Buenos Aires, I would strongly recommend hopping on a bus and going to Mar Del Plata. Yes, it is a ~5 hour drive although they have the coolest buses there where if you pay a premium you get a chair that reclines into a generous sized bed (complete with a privacy curtain). The photo opportunities in Mar Del Plata are endless. Additionally, I believe Mar del Plata is famous for their sea lions, which you can get pretty close to, i.e., within 5 feet. Although you may not want to considering their smell. It is a really cool sight though.

As it was my first time in Argentina, my gf also wanted to show me Iguazu. The falls at Iguazu are breathtaking and I would definitely recommend seeing them.

I really wish I had a digital camera back when I went down there. I had an old Canon AE-1 and shot alot of film for them, but these days it feels like nothing considering I come back from trips these days with 1000 photos.

I feel like I didn't take nearly enough pictures... but I'll have to make up for that when I head back in May or June

Awesome shots, man. A friend of mine is backpacking down there right now and keeps pinging me via email. I'm super jealous. Wish I had time to go back.

Oh, and ... su novia tiene una hermana?

Thanks . I love Argentina, I'm really looking forward to heading down there in May.

And I'm sorry, she doesn't have any sisters.
