I am going to be in Milford CT all weekend.
It looks like Friday is pretty open for me going out and about taking pictures (I hope).

Any suggestions for anything near the area? Or at least a gas tank away?

take the train to NYC?



i don't know besides mystic and the seaport and aquarium honestly. Other than that CT is the 3 hours of traffic between me and NYC. It's water is blocked by long island so there are no waves and the wind is light.

I'll be in NY all next week for work so I think I have that one covered.

My next question is, what gear should I pack?...

camera gear?

well the east coast is crowded so a UWA for sure. Maybe a CP? What are the options?

i'm sure there are parks and the shore in milford. i seem to recall there being some preserve out on an island in the sound that belongs to milford.

hartford sucks too. there's a reason i will go to boston, or providence way before i would think about going to hartford. well providence is closer, but still it's better than hartford.

70-200 is giant, I'd say no as it'll also draw even more attention
17-40 for sure.
maybe the 15mm
I'd go with a 28-135 over the 70-200 for size/weight
maybe the 50mm if you think you'll need low light ability
is beer an option, or is this like BYOB -vs- goto a bar beer?

I now know this. We drove down one long street of ghetto as hell Jamaican cafes/bakeries/restaurants/hair braiding places before we got to the University.

Well, I am back from my trip earlier than expected.
Got some decent shots, didn't really go to many other places besides Milford.
Did plenty of drinking.
All in all, decent long weekend.
